Silent Auction of the 2004 Kerrytown BookFest Limited Edition Poster #1 at the Information Booth
Designed and letterpress printed by Darcy Bowden and Jim Horton, a silent auction of signed, framed poster #1 of a limited edition of 50, will continue throughout the day at the information booth (Booth 81-82) and the winner announced at 5:00 pm. You do not have to be present to win. Framing compliments of Art Warehouse.

Media at the BookFest
While the BookFest is all about books and book people, the Ann Arbor District Library will be film and Ann Arbor Alive internet radio will interview visitors, exhibitors and speakers so that those who can't be at the BookFest can hear and see what we are all about, and not just during the BookFest! AADL will show event footage on screens at their branches, and A3 radio will air several interviews after the event.

Our Honorary Co-Chairs
Joe and Beth Fitzsimmons are our Honorary Co-Chairs for this year's event. The Fitzsimmons will give a presentation on their areas of collecting to open the BookFest. Joe Fitzsimmons collects books on Antarctica, and Beth collect ABC books for all ages.

BookFest Poster Available
Darcy Bowden, local artists, designed a wonderful poster for us and both Darcy and Jim Horton printed up 50 signed, limited edition copies to help us raise money. Look for it in shop windows all over Ann Arbor soon!

Live Music and Food at the BookFest!
This year the BookFest will close one short block of Detroit Street just east of the Farmers market, and we will have a stage for live local music and space for food vendors, including Zingermans and Pilars! There will also be plenty of seating so you can listen while you eat.

More Demonstators, Events & Exhibitors
We've updated our site to reflect the most current schedule of events and list of over 100 booths of exhibitors and demonstrators. Be sure to take a look so you you know what to see on the 12th.

What They're Saying About Last Year -

"The Kerrytown BookFest takes a 'whole life' approach to the book: from author to printing to sales to how to take care of old books. There is something for everyone."
-
Shannon Zachary

Head, Conservation Services
University of Michigan Library

"The venue is terrific and the mix of exhibitors draws a lively and interesting crowd. What better way to spend an afternoon than in the company of folks who love books and the book arts?"
-
Jim Ottaviani
GT Labs
Eisner-award nominated
publisher of graphic novels
about science

"The 2003 Kerrytown BookFest was a very well run and well attended event that attracted adults as well as children for a day of browsing and fun activities related to books. We look forward to participating in this marvelous event again."
-
John MacKrell
President
Friends of the
University of Michigan Library

"The Kerrytown set up is probably one of my favorite places to showcase and sell books. There's plenty of room to set up shop with easy in and easy out. And the market atmosphere with coffee shops and various vendors contributes to the relaxed and interesting ambience. Sales were good, the people were friendly and interested in books, and the whole book fair was well organized and focused on the love of books."
-
Mike Gajda
Out of the Way Books

"Great fun hangin' in the sun with bookish people. Lots of leisurely learning time."
-
Susan Hensel
Book Artist

"Participants at the BookFest are players, creators, tinkerers, hard workers, explorers, perfectionists, and visionaries. They are more important then ever. To share this with an interested public is very neat. It excites people's imaginations. It reaffirms that anyone with passion can join and
be a part."
-
Jim Horton
Greenhills School
Art Teacher
